Witnesses report about 300 deaths in Russian air strike on Mariupol drama theater

Mariupol Drama Theater shelling on March 16 killed about 300 people. This was reported by the Mariupol City Council with reference to witnesses.

"We want to believe that everyone managed to survive. However, those who were inside the building at the time of this terrorist act claim the opposite," the statement says.

Dramatic theater was a shelter for women and children. The large inscriptions "ДЕТИ" ("CHILDREN") was placed on the ground on both sides in front of the theater. Russian troops dropped a powerful bomb directly on the building.

It was initially reported that alive people were leaving the bomb shelter, but it was impossible to dismantle the ruins of the building quickly. The enemy continues to shell the city.

There is no exact information about the dead and injured during the attack on the drama theater.

This was the first, but not the only case of deliberate Russian shelling of civilian shelters in Mariupol. After the drama theater the enemies bombed the art school which was used as a civilian shelter as well.
