The Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine reported that Russian forces had killed 136 children in Ukraine since the beginning of the war.
199 children suffered injuries of different levels of severity. Most of the injured children are from the Kyiv region - 64 children. 44 are from the Kharkiv region, 50 from the Donetsk region, 38 from the Chernihiv region, 28 from the Mykolaiv region, 25 from the Luhansk region, 17 from the Zaporizhzhia region, 20 from the Kherson region, 16 from Kyiv, 15 from the Zhytomyr region, 14 from the Sumy region.
On March 25, 2022, after the Russian shelling in the Donetsk region, a 9-year-old child died, one more was wounded.
On March 24, 2022, the 13-year-old girl from the village in the Mykolaiv region suffered multiple face wounds after the Russians shelled the village.
On March 23, 2022, due to the occupiers' shelling of the pedestrian bridge in Chernihiv, a family with an 11-year-old boy received injuries in the form of shrapnel wounds.
Due to the Russians’ daily air attacks and shellings, 570 education facilities were damaged, including 73, which were completely destroyed. The worst is the situation in the Donetsk, Kharkiv, Mykolaiv, Sumy, Kyiv, Kherson, and Chernihiv regions and Kyiv city. In addition, more than 40 children's facilities were affected by enemy fire, including medical facilities, art schools, sports facilities, and libraries.
“This data is not final, as there is no possibility to review the shelling sites in the active combat zones and the temporarily occupied territories,” the Prosecutor’s Office noted.
