The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine released the operational information about the Russian invasion as of 6 a.m. on 26 March 2022.
According to the General Staff, due to the lack of qualified personnel, the Russian forces are staffing the units with significant losses, with the personnel with low morale and people prone to drug and alcohol abuse. Conducting the spring conscription campaign in 2022, which starts on April 1st in Russia, could become problematic.
In addition, there is a tendency to a sharp decrease in the number of contract military in relation to conscripts. Thus, the deterioration of the social component due to international sanctions and the losses during the war in the coming weeks are likely to exacerbate the problem of staffing the Russian army with qualified personnel.
The equipment from the storage warehouses and arsenals to the occupiers’ units, who are trying to regain combat power, is in poor technical condition due to the careless former use and long-term storage.
The enemy deployed almost all Russian guard units stationed in the temporarily occupied Crimea and certain parts of the Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, and Donetsk regions to suppress the resistance of the residents of Kherson, Henichesk, Berdiansk, and some districts of Mariupol.
The occupiers are trying to intensify the activities of the reconnaissance and sabotage groups in Kyiv to destabilize the social and political situation and disrupt the system of state and military administration.
The reason for it is the inability to quickly replenish losses, properly regroup and deploy troops to maintain the required pace of combat, and achieve the ultimate goal of war.
The Defense Forces group continues to conduct the defensive operation on the determined directions, performs operations on stabilization, and conducts the territorial defense tasks.
The Defence Forces groups of Kyiv continue to repel the enemy’s offensive, conduct fire attacks, and hold the predetermined defensive frontlines.
In Donetsk and Luhansk regions, the Joint Forces Operation repelled all the enemy attacks and inflicted significant losses to the Russian invaders. Ukrainian military destroyed 8 tanks, 17 units of armored vehicles, and 11 cars. The enemy’s personnel losses amount to around 170 people. The Air Defense units shot down 3 enemy aircraft and 3 UAVs.
The Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in the last 24 hours, destroyed 12 enemy air targets (3 aircraft, 3 UAVs, a helicopter, and 5 cruise missiles). The attack aircraft of the Air Forces under cover of the fighter aircraft conducted devastating missile attacks on the equipment columns and clusters of the occupying troops.
According to the previous statement from the General Staff, the enemy has transported additional artillery units to the Ukrainian border.
