During the month of the war, Russians killed 54 Ukrzaliznytsia employees. UNIAN reports that the Chairman of the Board of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" Oleksandr Kamyshyn announced this information.

"The first month of the war took the lives of 54 railroad employees," - he said.

According to Kamyshyn, another 64 railway employees were injured.

"And three more were taken as prisoners. And this is the hardest part of the war for me," the Ukrzaliznytsia chairman added.

On 24 March 2022, the Russians met the evacuation train going to Ivano-Frankivsk with strafing near Vasylkiv (Kyiv region). The occupiers strafed the railway stations in Ocheretyn of Donetsk region and Pavlohrad of Dnipropetrovsk region. In Pavlograd, the station building was destroyed and the tracks and the railway line were damaged.
