The men's freestyle wrestling team would remain in Ukraine instead of going to the European Championship in Hungary, as announced by the President of the Ukrainian Wrestling Association, Yuriy Kopytko, on his Facebook page.
"The European Wrestling Championship starts on 28 Match in Budapest. Together with the men's wrestling team, we decided that they should stay in their home country to defend it.
We are now fighting for the freedom and independence of the whole Ukraine. We will resume the fight on the carpet after the victory, which is close,” – Kopytko said.“
The women's team has been in Budapest for about a week and is training hard to show the best results at the championship. We are sure that we will see our blue and yellow flag on the pedestal many times," – the President of the Ukrainian Wrestling Association stressed.
