Specialists from the State Service of Special Communication and Information Protection of Ukraine have neutralized a mass cyberattack on Ukrtelecom [JSC, Ukraine's monopolist telephone company and big internet provider].
This was reported by the press service of the State Service.
"Today, a powerful hostile cyberattack was executed on Ukrtelecom's IT infrastructure. To secure the network infrastructure and continue providing services to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, other military formations, and users of critical infrastructure, Ukrtelecom has temporarily restricted services for most individual customers and business clients," - the statement said.
Currently, the attack is repelled, provision of service to customers is being gradually restored.
"We apologize for the temporary inconvenience and ask our dear customers to understand the specifics of wartime work," Mykhailo Shuranov, Ukrtelecom's director of corporate communications, told Interfax-Ukraine.
Earlier Ukrtelecom removed internet connection speed restrictions.
