Since the start of full-scale war with russia, more than 350 civilians have died in Chernihiv. Chernihiv Mayor Vladyslav Atroshenko stated this during the TV news marathon, RBC-Ukraine reports.
At the same time, according to the Mayor, 30-40 wounded are hospitalized every day.
"350 people have already died in the city. This is not final data. We have reappointed head of the regional health department, I hope there will be more detailed figures. I think this figure is already approximately 400 people. Half of these people I know personally. It is very difficult to endure all this," the Mayor said.
According to him, there are currently two multifunctional hospitals [the medical facility which has the largest number of doctors and medical equipment and works around the clock] in Chernihiv, where 30-40 wounded civilians arrive every day. About 400 people are currently in hospital.
Chernihiv is one of the most shelled cities. The city has no electricity, water, gas, almost no heat. Due to the damage to the main road bridge connecting the city with Kyiv, it is also impossible to arrange humanitarian corridors to deliver aid and transport the seriously injured.
