Kherson residents do not cooperate with the enemy and are waiting for the liberation of the city. One of the locals told LB.ua about how the occupied Kherson lives.
"Our population is self-sufficient. People do not starve. Of course, we live on a minimum basis, but we can survive," says Mykola.
According to him, all the evidence of locals about the experience of talking to Russian soldiers comes down to the following: Russians do not make contact, do not react to aggression, look confused, said that they are scared and they want to leave.
“The distribution of "humanitarian aid" by the orcs [occupiers] is clearly propagandistic,” - said a local resident. “They are doing it for their media outlets and reports. There are no collaborators in Kherson. Residents are waiting for the liberation of the city. Russians do not go into authorities. We don’t have a feeling that they have the resources or even a desire to influence our civilian life other than to disperse the rally. In the city there is no Russian military equipment. And the servicemen are almost invisible."
According to locals, there is an atmosphere of mutual assistance in Kherson:
“Actually there are no law enforcement agencies in the city like police, courts, etc. And the Russians do not patrol the city. It would seem that there are all opportunities for anarchy and disorder. But the opposite happened: people behave very politely, organized and caring for each other. In some sense, an abandoned and troubled person can now feel more protected and well-groomed than in peacetime. Because now everyone cares about everyone, everything is my backyard. Famous deputies, officials, and the rich in general have disappeared. Most afraid of themselves are those who have wealth. Now in plain sight there are ordinary people who have not been visible in everyday life. Social networks are full of information about various humanitarian activities, volunteers, etc. "
In Kherson the occupiers kidnapped the priest of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine Serhiy Chudynovych. He was taken straight out of the church, according to eyewitnesses. Unknown people introduced themselves as "police" officers.
Prior to that, a deputy of the Ship District Council, head of the European Solidarity faction, coach of the Ukrainian taekwon-do team Dmytro Afanasyev was abducted from Kherson. Also in the Kherson region, the occupiers captured the movie star from the film "Ukrainian Sheriffs" Viktor Marunyak, who heads the community of Staraya Zbur'ivka.
