Russians deport Mariupol residents to Russia. More than 70 people were forcibly relocated from the Mariupol Maternity Hospital №2 to the russian territory, including medical staff and patients.
According to the Mariupol City Council, more than 20,000 Mariupol residents have already been deported to russia against their will.
The local authorities note that russians confiscate IDs and send Ukrainian citizens to so-called filtration camps. After that people are relocated to remote cities in far east russia. The principle of distribution and the reasons for the deportation remain unknown.
"What russia is doing today violates all possible international human rights. Russians act exactly in the same manner as fascist troops during World War II did. But we will not forget or leave a single Mariupol citizen in russia and will do all we can to bring them back to Ukraine," said Mariupol Mayor Vadym Boychenko.
He added that the City Council started to put together a database of deported residents of Mariupol and develop a legal mechanism to bring Mariupol citizens back.
"We will do everything we can to rescue and bring people back home," said the mayor of Mariupol.
The City Council added that earlier russians also forcibly removed the around 600 people, both staff and patients, from the Mariupol Hospital №1.
