Ukrainian army liberates Sloboda near Chernihiv, breaking partial blockade

The Ukrainian military liberated the village of Sloboda near Chernihiv. Journalist Andriy Tsaplienko announced this on his Telegram channel.

Ukrainian servicemen informed the journalist about the village's liberation and passed on a video taken in Sloboda. From this settlement, the occupiers arranged shelling of the humanitarian corridor. The village is about 20 kilometers north of the regional center.

"News of the day. The Ukrainian military kicked out the Russian occupiers from the village of Sloboda in the Chernihiv region. The video was just sent to me by our soldiers. I am proud of my friendship with these heroic people. It is said that people cried and hugged them when the Ukrainian army entered the village. Until recently, the humanitarian corridor to Chernihiv was shelled from here, where I was injured. "So, Andriy, I dedicate this assault to you," my comrade from the brigade that liberated the settlement told me. We are preparing a story for TSN news," the statement said.

Andriy Tsaplienko received a shrapnel wound during shootings of evacuation from bombed Chernihiv. As of March 26, 12 journalists had been killed in the war with Russia, and another 10 had been injured to varying degrees.
