Some of the generals were killed on the territory of Ukraine, some were removed from their positions, and some were arrested.

With the beginning of the military aggression against Ukraine, the command of the armed forces of the russian federation lost several senior military officers.

This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Losses among the command are as follows:

Commander of the 1st Tank Army, Lieutenant-General Serhiy Kisel, was removed from the position;

Commander of the 6th Combined Arns Army Lieutenant-General Vladislav Yershov was removed from the position and arrested;

Chief of Staff - Deputy Commander of the 35th Combined Arns Army, Major General Serhiy Nirkov, was seriously wounded;

Chief of Staff - Deputy Commander of the 36th Combined Arms Army, Major General Andriy Serytsky, was seriously wounded;

Deputy Commander of the 41st Combined Arms Army, Lieutenant General Andriy Sukhovetskyi, died;

Commander of the 49th Combined Arms Army Lieutenant General Yakiv Riazantsev died;

Commander of the 58th Combined Arms Army Lieutenant General Mykhailo Zusko was dismissed and arrested.

On 15 March 2022, near Mariupol, the worriers of the Azov regiment eliminated the Major General of the russian federation army, Oleh Mitiaev, known for atrocities in "DNR" and Syria.

On 19 March 2022, the Armed Forces of Ukraine eliminated the commander of the 8th Combined Arms Army of the Southern Military District, Lieutenant-General Mordvychov.
