Zelenskyy: "We will not give anything and we will fight for every meter of our land, for every person"

The President stressed that the "withdrawal" of Russian troops from Kyiv and Chernihiv is completely merit of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed that the negotiation process with Russia is ongoing, but so far it has no specifics.

He stated this in a video message.

Zelenskyy noted that today "we have a little time, but there are a lot of emotions and even more - challenges." He noted that now is a turning point," when we can and should only talk about the most important things."

"Yes, there is a negotiation process that continues, but it is still only words. So far, without specifics," - Zelenskyy said.

The President also added that statements about the "withdrawal" of part of the Russian military from Kyiv and Chernihiv are also only in words. The real withdrawal of the occupier's forces is, first of all, the merit of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

"There are also other statements about the alleged withdrawal of Russian troops from Kyiv and Chernihiv. About the alleged decrease of the occupier’s activity in these areas. We know that this is not a withdrawal, but the consequences of expulsion, the consequences of the work of our defenders. But we also see that at the same time there is an accumulation of Russian troops for new attacks in the Donbas. And that's what we're preparing for. We do not believe anyone - no beautiful verbal constructions. There is a real situation on the battlefield, and now it is the most important thing. We won't give anything. And we will fight for every meter of our land, for each of our people," - Zelenskyy stated.

The President also called on Ukrainians to unite. He stressed that in such a situation in which our state is now, there should be no such discussions to which society and our politicians are accustomed in peacetime.

"If someone pretends that he can teach our Armed Forces how to fight, how to confront the enemy, the best way to do it is to go directly to the battlefield. Not from the armchair at home or in the place where they left for safety. And from real combat collisions. If you are not ready to do it, do not start to teach our defenders and our women-defenders," - Zelenskyy added.

Earlier, Zelenskyy noted that the signals from the negotiations with the Russian Federation can be called positive, but they "do not drown out the ruptures of Russian shells."

On March 29, negotiations between the Ukrainian and Russian sides took place, and they will continue this week. Representatives of the aggressor country said that Russian troops may stop a massive offensive in the Kyiv and Chernihiv regions. According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, now the Russian Federation really withdraws some units from the territory of Kyiv and Chernihiv regions but regroups them to focus their main efforts on Slobozhansk and Donetsk directions.
