The Red Cross warehouse in the center of Mariupol was under military strike at least two times.

The Azov Battalion announced this news on March 30 to its Telegram channel.

“The occupiers are deliberately destroying the building marked with a red cross on a white background by air and artillery shelling. This is one of the most heinous war crimes. After all, such crosses mark places where wounded, civilian people or humanitarian cargoes locate. The only ones who violated the rules of war were the troops of Hitler's Germany, who also fired on buildings and vehicles marked with red crosses," mentioned in the note by Azov.

CNN has received a satellite image from Maxar Technologies, which confirms the message of Azov, reported by CNN.

Referring to additional images, Maxar Technologies suggested that the northern side of the warehouse was hit somewhere between March 19-22, and the second strike of the southern part of the building occurred between March 23-26.

Data from sensory satellites of NASA's resource management system also confirmed that several explosions were observed in the vicinity on March 20, and every day from March 22 to 25.

International Committee of the Red Cross spokesperson Jason Straziuso confirmed to CNN that it was a Red Cross warehouse. “We do not have a team on the ground, so we have no other information, including on potential casualties or the extent of the damage," Straziuso said. "We can say that we had already distributed all aid supplies in the warehouse.”

No Red Cross staff have been at the warehouse since March 15, according to Straziuso, and that the organization does not know how the building may have been used since.

Liudmyla Denysova, the Ukrainian Parliament commissioner for human rights, called for the world community to condemn the shelling of the building. “This is another war crime of the russian army in accordance with the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court and a gross violation of the 1949 Geneva Conventions,” she said.

As reported earlier, the occupiers continue to deport Mariupol residents to russia. It is already known about more than 20,000 residents of Mariupol, who were deported against their will.

Today 812 people were able to leave Mariupol on their own transport.
