Interior Ministry names reasons for russians' partial "withdrawal" from Chernobyl plant

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine named two reasons for the partial withdrawal of russian troops from the territory of the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant.

The first reason, mentioned by the adviser to the Minister of Internal Affairs Vadym Denysenko on the air of 24 channel, is rotation. And the second reason is the real irradiation of some of the military.

According to him, the russians are obviously panicking and do not understand that the soldiers are in a situation they did not even theoretically expect.

“And the fact that seven buses with soldiers were brought to the radiological center in Gomel, caused panic among the contingent that is in or near Chernobyl,” said Denysenko.

Earlier, the Pentagon said that russian troops started to leave the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant.

Last night it became known that buses with russian soldiers, probably irradiated in the Chernobyl exclusion zone, were arriving at the Belarusian Radiation Medicine Center in Gomel.

The Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant is under occupation. The russian troops continue to militarize the Chernobyl exclusion zone. In particular, they set up their positions in a highly toxic area, called the Red Forest, raising clouds of radioactive dust there. The Ukrainian General Staff has repeatedly warned of the threat of self-detonation of ammunition, the huge storage of which russia has set up near the CNPP. Therefore, russia must immediately withdraw its troops from the Chornobyl zone.

Minister of Energy of Ukraine Herman Halushchenko called the russian federation a nuclear terrorist.

The Reuters news agency managed to talk to employees of the nuclear power plant, occupied by the russians. The employees said that there were no anti-radiation measures taken in the russian military column. Another employee added that it was a ‘suicide’ for the occupiers because the radioactive dust they inhaled could cause internal irradiation.

It should be mentioned that the area around Chernobyl is closed to everyone, except for CNPP workers and those having a special permit. The Red Forest is considered to be so polluted that even the employees of the nuclear power plant are not allowed there.
