Since the beginning of the armed aggression of the russian federation in Ukraine, 148 children were killed and 232 were injured. The Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine said.
“And these numbers are not final, as there is no possibility to conduct the priority investigative actions, the inspection of the territory of shelling and damages in the places of active warfare and in the temporarily occupied territories. In particular, in the city of Mariupol, in some areas of the Kyiv, Chernihiv, and Luhansk regions”, the message states.
According to the available data, the largest number of children affected in the Kyiv region – 69, Donetsk region – 57, Kharkiv region – 53, Chernihiv region – 41, Mykolaiv region – 30, Luhansk region – 30, Zaporizhzhia region – 22, Kherson region – 27, the city of Kyiv – 16, Sumy region – 16, Zhytomyr region – 15.
On 10 March, in the Izium district of the Kharkiv region, a woman and a child died as a result of explosive injuries from an airstrike by russian military. On 30 March, their bodies were detected under the ruins of an apartment building destroyed by shelling.
On 12 March, as a result of the shelling of a children's hospital in Mariupol, an under-aged boy, who was receiving treatment there, died. He was the brother of a young gymnast Kateryna, who was killed a few days earlier.
On 23 March, a 3-year-old child was killed in the shelling in the Velykooleksandrivskyy district of the Kherson region.
On 29 March, a 14-year-old teenager was wounded by shrapnel in the shelling by the russian military in the village of Davydiv Brid of the Beryslav district of the Kherson region.
On 30 March, two people were killed and five others, including a six-month-old baby, were injured in a car crash into the undisposal ammunition in the Chuhuiv district of the Kharkiv region.
On 30 March, two children aged two and seven were seriously injured in the shelling of the town of Lysychansk in Luhansk Oblast.
797 educational institutions were damaged by bombing and shelling. 76 of them were completely destroyed. The worst situation is in the Donetsk, Kharkiv, Mykolaiv, Sumy, Kyiv, Kherson, Zhytomyr, Chernihiv regions, and in the city of Kyiv.
