President Joe Biden said on Thursday that Russian President Vladimir Putin seems to be self-isolating in Russia and may have fired or put under house arrest some of his advisers.
Biden added, "But I don't want to put too much stock in that at this time."
Biden admits that he is skeptical that Russia is scaling back its army near the Ukrainian capital Kyiv. There is no evidence to that; however, there is certain information that the Russian Federation enlarged its military force in Donbas.
Yesterday, the White House Communications Director Kate Bedingfield said that Vladimir Putin was misinformed by his advisers about the operations of his army in Ukraine and the influence of sanctions on the economy of his country. According to her, Putin found that out, which led to the increase in tension between him and the heads of the defense authority.
