Prime Minister Scott Morrison said that Australia will send armored vehicles to Ukraine after President Volodymyr Zelenskyy specifically asked for them, CNN reports.
However, the head of government did not say when and how many Bushmaster vehicles will be sent to Ukraine.
“We’re not just sending our prayers, we’re sending our guns, we’re sending our munitions, we’re sending our humanitarian aid, we’re sending all of this and our body armor,” Morrison said.
“We are going to be sending our armed personnel vehicles, as well as our Bushmasters. And we are sending weapons to Ukraine on our C-17s,” Morrison said.
Earlier, Volodymyr Zelenskyy called on Australia to provide Bushmaster armored vehicles, which can significantly help in the fight against Russia.
In his speech before the Australian Parliament, the Ukrainian President noted that other models of equipment and weapons can strengthen our position and Ukraine will be grateful if it is possible to provide them.
He also invited Australia to take over the patronage of the Kherson region, which is fighting for its freedom today.
