Two female volunteers died in Luhansk region from mortar fire

On Sunday, April 3, russian troops fired mortars at Novodruzhesk, Luhansk region. Two volunteers died.

This was announced on April 4 morning by the Head of the Regional Military Administration Serhiy Haidai.

“Volunteers were distributing humanitarian aid to residents. Despite regular enemy [russian] fire, they came to the meeting point every day and provided people with food and necessities. It was the same yesterday until a mine hit. By the way, one of the victims shielded her other colleague when the russian shelling began. Eternal memory,” Haidai wrote on Facebook.

Because of the russian invasion, during the last 24 hours, two multi-storey buildings in Sievierodonetsk went on fire in Luhansk region, and several private houses in Novodruzhesk were engulfed in flames.

The Head of the Regional Military Administration said that seven enemy attacks were repelled during the last 24 hours in Luhansk and Donetsk regions; two units of armored vehicles, 43 military vehicles, and an enemy mortar were destroyed. Air defense units shot down two planes, one unmanned aerial vehicle, and a russian plane.

During this week, the military of the United Armed Forces repulsed 51 enemy attacks, destroyed 46 tanks, 92 armored and 87 vehicles, 27 artillery systems, 10 unmanned aerial vehicles, four aircraft, and an enemy cruise missile.
