Russia demands Wikipedia delete five articles about war crimes in Ukraine

Russia demands that Wikipedia remove 5 articles about war crimes in Ukraine.

The Center for Countering Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) reported that.

Wikipedia reported about the claims of the russian Federal Service for Supervision of Communications, Information Technology and Mass Media (Roskomnadzor) regarding five articles under the russian "fake news law":

''Kyiv Offensive (2022)";

"War crimes during the russian invasion into Ukraine";

"Mariupol hospital airstrike";

"Mariupol theater airstrike";

"Bucha massacre".

The article named "Bucha massacre" has appeared on Wikipedia. The tragedy is described as ''mass killings of civilians in the city of Bucha, the Kyiv region and its outskirts in the period of the russian-Ukrainian war during the russian invasion, committed by the Armed forces of the russian federation in March 2022".

The russian language version of the article was created on 4 March. It has a section named "Suspected killings participants" that isn't present in the Ukrainian language version.

Roskomnadzor was said to threaten to block Wikipedia concerning the article named "2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine".
