US Secretary of the Treasury Janet Ellen has warned that russia's aggression in Eastern Europe will have huge economic consequences in Ukraine and abroad. She said this at a meeting of the House of Representatives, the Associated Press writes.
"Globally, the effects of the crisis are exacerbating economic vulnerabilities in many countries, which are already facing higher debt burdens and limited policy opportunities due to recovery from covid," she said.
Ellen stressed that russia's invasion "including atrocities against innocent Ukrainians in Bucha, is reprehensible ... and will have huge economic consequences for the world".
