NATO will increase military assistance to Ukraine. All members of the Alliance have agreed to this. However, the supply of armored vehicles or aircraft, which the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba and President Volodymyr Zelenskyy insisted on, is out of the question.
This was stated by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg at a press conference after the meeting of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of NATO countries in Brussels, reports the BBC.
“We just finished a meaningful meeting of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of NATO countries. We agreed that we must further increase and continue our support for Ukraine so that Ukraine wins against the russian invasion,” - “Interfax-Ukraine” quoted the head of NATO as saying.
Stoltenberg stressed that the allies have done much to support Ukraine and intend to do more now, in the medium and long term, to help Ukrainians defend their homes and their country, as well as to fight back against the occupiers.
Allies are also increasing humanitarian aid and financial support for Ukraine. Stoltenberg added that the Alliance would help Ukraine defend itself against cyberattacks, as well as provide protective equipment in case of a chemical or biological attack by russia.
The head of MFA Dmytro Kuleba during a speech in Brussels said, that the battle for Donbas will resemble World War II with extensive maneuvers and thousands of aircraft and armored vehicles. He urged NATO to provide weapons to Ukraine as soon as possible, or “help will come too late and many people will die”.
