The President of Poland Andrzej Duda treats the actions of russia as genocide and thinks that Europe has to issue an ultimatum to Putin. He told it to CNN.
Answering the question if he meets Zelenskyy’s statement that russian actions in Bucha were the genocide, Duda said that he could not disagree with that. “This invasion aims to annihilate the Ukrainian nation”, - said Duda. He also added that the killing of such a big amount of peaceful citizens is evidence of russia’s real plan.
“We were constantly told that we had to communicate to Russia. But any dialog with russia has no sense. Putin has to face strict conditions. He should be told that there will be no further dialog unless he is fulfilling these conditions,” – said Duda.
Answering the question about the efficiency of sanctions, he said that “sanctions should be more severe”.
“But it is a very hard task. The best would be to restrict the possibility to sell russian resources: gas, but first of all – oil.” – he said.
Earlier, the Minister of foreign affairs Dmytro Kuleba revealed the details of new sanctions against the russian federation.
