In the town of Borodyanka in the Kyiv region, many people could have been rescued from the rubble, but this was prevented by shell bombing by the occupiers.
The Minister of Internal Affairs Denys Monastyrskyy told about it during his press tour for Ukrainian and foreign journalists.
According to him, it will take a week to dismantle only one destroyed multi-storey building in Borodyanka. And there are a lot of such destructions in the town and there can be people under every rubble.
There are no military facilities in Borodyanka - only houses and kindergartens. However, residents say that in the first days of the war, the occupiers fired missiles into their homes.
According to Monastyrskyy, Borodyanka is one of the most destroyed towns in the Kyiv region.
"A month ago, rescuers began dismantling the destroyed houses, but the enemy began firing on officers of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine and their equipment. It was possible to save people who were under the rubble, but due to constant shell bombing, rescuers could not do so. Until today, there was no access to the site, and now we understand that there are probably no living people left under the rubble. This is another deliberate crime against humanity committed by the russian military," the minister said.
According to local authorities, the russians almost destroyed Borodyanka, and about 200 people went missing.
