In Volyn's direction, there is a threat of missiles and bomb attacks from russian occupiers on military and civilian infrastructure from the Belarus territory, General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reports in their briefing as of 6 p.m. on April 7.
Russia is regrouping its forces and increasing its aviation component and control system. They also continue gathering intelligence.
“The enemy is focusing main efforts on capturing Mariupol, conducting offensive near the town of Izium and trying to break through the defense in the Donetsk direction,” General Staff reports.
In the direction of Pivdennyy Buh, the aggressor is trying to prevent the further advance of the UAF units and improve the tactical position of its units in some areas.
The enemy did not take any active actionsin the Polissya direction. Units of the occupiers deployed to the territory of Belarus are carrying out demonstration actions to prevent the transfer of units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine from this area to other directions.
The General Staff noted that some units of the russian army from the Eastern Military District and airborne troops (they are regaining their combat capability and regrouping on Belarusian territory after leaving Ukraine) are likely to be sent to strengthen enemy troops in the Slobozhansky direction.
In the Siverskyy direction, Russia is completing the regrouping and restoration of combat capability of the Central Military District units in some regions of the Briansk and Kursk regions. They will likely be sent to other operational areas, in particular, to conduct combat in Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
In the Slobozhanskyy direction, the enemy is increasing control and communication systems in the interest of the offensive group of troops.
Up to five enemy battalion tactical groups continue to blockade the Kharkiv region; they fire at it from multiple rocket launcher systems, artillery and mortars. The russian occupiers are also trying to continue the offensive in the direction of Sloviansk and Barvinkovo.
In Donetsk and Tavriyskyy directions russian federation conducts missiles and bomb attacks and shells the civilian infrastructure of the towns and villages with artillery. The occupiers use the port of Berdiansk to transfer weapons, military equipment, and personnel.
The enemy increased their efforts in the Severodonetsk direction - here, they are trying to continue their offensive near the towns Donetskyy, Novotoshkivske, Popasna.
Russian troops tried to conduct an offensive near Mariinka, Borivske, and Solodke but failed.
In the South Bug direction, the Russian Army conducted artillery shelling and, in some areas, used army aircraft. The occupiers are trying to continue the offensive in the direction of the village of Oleksandrivka.
The General Staff notes that the occupiers will probably try to break through the defenses of Ukrainian troops in the Severodonetsk, Avdiivka, and Kurakhiv districts soon.
In the waters of the Black and Azov Seas, Russian ships continue to launch missile strikes at the territory of Ukraine and also provide isolation of the area of hostilities and intelligence.
In the temporarily occupied Ukrainian territories, the Russian authorities continue to restrict the rights of Ukrainians. For example, in the Zaporizhzhia region, the Russian occupiers banned men from traveling to Ukrainian-controlled territory. There has been an increase in the shortage of basic necessities, especially food, which could complicate the humanitarian situation.
"Ukraine's defense forces, inflicting losses, continue to push back the enemy and liberate the territories temporarily occupied by the occupiers in certain areas," the General Staff said.
Earlier, the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dmytro Kuleba, at a briefing in Brussels, stressed that Ukraine needed planes, anti-ship missiles, armored personnel carriers, and heavy air defense systems to fight Russia. "The more weapons we get, the more towns and villages will not be destroyed, and there will be no more Buchas," Kuleba said.
