Zelenskyy called out the Greeks to Help with Saving Mariupol "Which Became Home for Big Greek Community”

The Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy appealed to the Greek Parliament with a call to help saving people from Mariupol.

“The city needs humanitarian aid! The city needs saving people from there: survivors and wounded. russia has been blocking Mariupol since the beginning of March, blocking on land and at sea. It does not allow even basic humanitarian goods to pass there. I am convinced that the strength of Greece can help to carry out this mission. The bill goes to the bottom,” The President mentioned.

He reminded that there are still about 100 thousand people, there is no undamaged buildings there.

I'm sure each of you has already seen what the city looks like now. After it was approached by the russian federation. There are only ruins. This is what russia has done to our peaceful Mariupol. But with your peaceful Mariupol as well. This city has always been home to a large Greek community. The Ukrainian Greek community is one of the largest in the world. For centuries, our peoples lived side by side, raised children and built the future,“ the president said.
