Zelenskyy on NATO: if they offer – we join

If tomorrow NATO offers Ukraine to join, Ukraine will join. The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated this in an interview with Ukrainian journalists, RBC-Ukraine reports. But we will not receive such an invitation, according to the president.

“If tomorrow NATO offers us to join, we will join. But it will not happen, unfortunately. And it did not happen, unfortunately. Therefore, we will build security guarantees for us that can protect lives,” Zelenskyy said.

Earlier. According to Volodymyr Zelenskyy, a third of NATO members oppose Ukraine's membership in the Alliance because they are scared of russia. Commenting on the atrocities in the city of Bucha, he noted that this is the result of 14 years of concessions to russia, since Ukraine was not admitted to NATO in 2008 due to Germany's refusal. Former German Chancellor Angela Merkel said she believed her decision then was right.
