US intelligence is identifying russian military units involved in the Bucha atrocities. The information was reported by "Evropeiska Pravda" with reference to CNN, which refers to the official representative of the United States.
According to the official, identifying those involved "is currently an extremely important priority" for US intelligence agencies.
The collection and analysis of intelligence data using all available tools and assets have continued since the atrocities became known; the United States is on the verge of narrowing the list of suspects.
According to the official, there is no certainty that the United States will publicly announce its conclusions, and a decision to do so or not may be left to Ukraine.
The United States is also analyzing possible indications that there was more than one russian military unit or group during the atrocities in Bucha. Also, the official added that the United States is trying to determine if any of this happened when one russian unit was withdrawing, and another entered the territory.
US President, Joe Biden, said that the crimes russians committed in Bucha must be reviewed in court. He called Volodymyr Putin a "barbarian" and the atrocities of russians in the occupied territories outrageous.
On 6 April 2022, the United States implemented additional sanctions on russia, including sanctions against Putin's daughters, Lavrov, Sberbank, and Alfa-Bank; the United States also banned any investment in russia.
