Izium, Kharkiv region, is in a tough humanitarian state, the Secretary of the Izium City Council Konstiantyn Petrov has told, reports Espreso.
“The situation around Izium is very difficult. The UAF are holding the enemy offence off, they are trying to advance in the direction of Donbas. The city of Izium has a geographic and strategic significance, but the UAF are holding on and repelling the attacks. As for the city itself, it is in a very tough state, especially, humanitarian. The residents who have stayed in the city are completely blocked, cut off. It has been impossible to provide humanitarian aid here for many days, and impossible to evacuate people, because the occupiers do not let enter the city,” Petrov has noted.
The secretary of the Izium City Council has also added that the ruinations in Izium are horrific.
“Right now, Izium is a nightmare, as the city centre is completely destroyed, as well as many schools, a hospital, a primary health care centre, a bus station, residence flat buildings, transport infrastructure. Meaning, in the beginning, the city has been rained with air bombs, then artillery and rocket systems shelling has taken place,” Petrov has summarized.
In Kharkiv region, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have destroyed a large russian occupier column during the night of April 10. The column of enemy matériel and personnel has been heading in Izium direction.
The enemy is trying to break through the defence of the UAF units near the city of Izium and establish the complete control over the city of Mairupol.
