In the past week, eleven thousand pieces of ammunition left by the russian army were neutralized in the Kyiv region, reported Ukrinform citing the statement made by the Head of the Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Pavlyuk, during the telethon.

"There is a great danger for the people. Just this week, we neutralized around 11 thousand pieces of ammunition. Those are unexploded mines, traps, trip wires. Russians leave many "surprises" as they exit the towns. We have to examine everything carefully before letting people access their property," said Pavlyuk.

He added that the checkpoints would allow people to return to their homes, but the authorities do not guarantee that the return is safe.

"It is best to wait until we complete all actions. To preserve property, we deployed additional forces in the area. About 600 police officers arrived from other regions to control the safety of the property and prevent looting," said Pavlyuk.

He added that the looters are mostly residents who know who left the towns. They try to break into other people's houses but are detained by the police.

It was announced earlier that the Kyiv region would receive 400 mln UAH to rebuild the infrastructure destroyed by the russians.
