Russians are not able to establish control over the port of Mariupol or the Ilyich Iron and Steel Works Plant of Mariupol, located in the Kalmius district, as reported by the Adviser to the Mayor of Mariupol Petro Andryushchenko in Telegram.

"All statements and videos are staged and shot only on the territories nearby the port and the plant. Yes, russians advanced as far as village Melekine near the beach Pischanyy (next to the port) and as far as old Mariupol Asphalt Plant (adjacent to the Ilyich Plant), which was of little strategic value in terms of military offensive“, - Anryushchenko noted.

According to Anryushchenko, recent attacks by russian artillery, MLRS and combat planes at the residential area near the port only prove his point.

"Russians published many images online with long russian military columns on the roadway to Eastern Ukraine. But the military convoys are not covered with camouflage, which means the equipment was supplied from the reserve stock. This, in turn, means it would be easier for Ukrainian soldiers to destroy it”, - Andryushchenko added.

He stressed that "overall, the situation on the battlefield looks okay, but we need to stay focused and moderated in our projections".

Earlier today, Ukrainian soldiers, who are currently fighting in Mariupol, called on the international community to speak up and rally for Ukraine with more protests worldwide.

The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhnyy said that the defense of Mariupol continues, everything possible and impossible is being done to win and save the lives of Ukrainian soldiers and Marioupol residents.

According to the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights Lyudmila Denisova, russians captured the sailors of the cargo ship SMARTA in the port of Mariupol. 18 citizens of Ukraine and 1 citizen of Egypt were taken prisoner.
