The Czech Ministry of Culture has allocated more than 80,000 euros to help Ukrainian museums. This was announced by the Czech Republic Minister of Culture Martin Baxa in an interview with Radio Ukraine in Prague.

"This is more than two million kroons from our resources, we will see how many damaged items (of art, - ed.) this amount will cover, and accordingly we will consider further assistance," - Minister said.

He also noted that the assistance will be based on a list of specific requests made by the Ukrainian side. It is mainly packaging material to save Ukrainian collections. The Czech National Museum will purchase government-approved items and then arrange transportation to Ukraine. This scheme has already been used to help Syrian cultural institutions.

Communication with Ukrainian museum workers takes place through the Ambassador of Ukraine to the Czech Republic Yevhen Perebyinis.

The Czech Republic has also offered Ukrainian museums the capacity of Czech conservation and restoration workshops and storage facilities. However, according to the Minister, at the moment Ukrainian museums do not plan to move their collections abroad.

According to the data published by the Secretariat of UNESCO, before March 31, the russian troops damaged or destroyed 53 objects of culture in Ukraine.
