There are more than 1000 buildings damaged in Irpin; it makes 71% of the city territory. Irpin City Mayor, Oleksandr Markushyn, reported this based on UN satellite center Unosat data.
As he says, 115 buildings were destroyed, 698 were significantly damaged, and 187 suffered partial damage.
"Based on satellite images, UN analysts at Unosat calculated the approximate number of destroyed and damaged buildings in Irpin. They identified at least 1,060 residential and public buildings. For example, according to UN Unosat, four educational and three health care institutions were damaged. The Unosat analysts said they took the pictures on 31 March 2022, and the data are incomplete due to slightly cloudy weather," - said the mayor.
Irpin is one of the cities in the Kyiv region that was affected the most. It was liberated from russian troops on 28 March 2022. As for now, the first stage of demining has been completed in the city. Communal services workers and volunteers started clearing the streets; traffic connections and electricity supply are being restored.
