On April 16, Russian troops shelled Mariupol, Pokrovsk, Kramatorsk, Krasnohorivka, Ukrainsk, Avdiivka, Marinka, Ocheretynе, Hostre, New York, Shumy, Oleksandropil, and Khrystyshche in the Donetsk region.
In the Luhansk region, fire was carried out on Severodonetsk, Lysychansk, Rubizhne, Kreminna, Pryvillia, Popasna and Stara Krasnyanka. This was reported on the page of the Joint Forces Headquarters on Facebook.
"As a result of the shelling, the oil sludge at the Lysychansk plant caught fire. Apart from the destruction of industrial buildings and enterprises in a number of settlements, apartment buildings in Ukrainka, Krasnohorivka and Ocheretyne were damaged," the statement said.
A 46-year-old man was killed and a woman was injured in Avdiivka as a result of the shelling of Marinka.
Despite the shelling, SES units evacuated 163 civilians from Vuhledar, Severodonetsk, Lysychansk, Rubizhne, and Kreminna.
Rescuers also continue demining. Among the 59 deadly objects found in the Volnovakha district are an unexploded 220 mm “Hurricane” MLRS projectile and dozens of cumulative fragmentation warheads. It is forbidden to pick up unknown objects and touch unexploded ordnance. Pyrotechnicians can be called at 101.
