Azovstal plant destroyed almost completely - Azov

The head of the Donetsk regional military administration, Pavlo Kyrylenko, didn’t confirm recent information that one of the superheavy bombs struck a hospital near Azovstal.

“Azovstal” plant located in Mariupol was “bombed and destroyed almost completely.”

This was stated in a comment to Radio Svoboda on April 19 by Deputy Commander of the Azov Regiment Sviatoslav “Kalyna” Palamar.

According to him, the russians are dropping “super-powerful bombs” on the plant.

“We will fight, use every bullet left, but we ask our motherland to save civilians, wounded and take away the bodies,” Palamar said.

The head of the Donetsk regional military administration, Pavlo Kyrylenko, did not confirm the recent information that one of the heavy bombs hit a hospital near Azovstal, where civilians were posibly hiding. Serhiy Taruta, a former member of parliament, has previously posted this news.

“According to my operational sources and the other sources of information, there was an explosion, but the mass casualties of the local population and the military have not been confirmed. If there is confirmation, I will immediately notify the President’s Office and the Armed Forces Command accordingly,” Kyrylenko said on the national TV marathon.

Major Serhiy Volyna, commander of the 36th Separate Marine Brigade, defending besieged Mariupol with Azov, earlier wrote a letter to Pope Francis urging the pontiff to help evacuate the city’s residents and “save them from Satan.”
