The oil embargo against russia is a matter of weeks. There are positive signals from France about the ban on the import of "black gold", - the Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak reported in Telegram.

"The Minister of Economy of this country Bruno Le Maire says that EU member states will soon decide to stop importing Russian oil. And this issue will be resolved within a few weeks", – he wrote.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is also confident that the ban on russian oil imports will be included in the EU sixth sanctions package, which they promise to adopt in the near future.

At the same time, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Germany Annalena Baerbock said that the European Union could not immediately impose an embargo on russian energy. Germany could support a ban on gas and oil imports from russia, but it "will do more harm than good."

Germany is going to give up Russian oil by the end of 2022. The EU has previously imposed a coal embargo, but it is due to take effect in August.

The situation with gas is more complicated - some countries, including Hungary and Austria, say they are not going to support a ban on imports of this energy resource.
