During the visit of US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin, $322 million in military assistance to Ukraine was agreed upon, the head of the President’s Office, Andriy Yermak, wrote on his Telegram.
"There was an important visit of US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin to Kyiv. We have communicated to our allies a special plan to strengthen sanctions against Russia, developed by the international expert group Yermak-McFaul," he said.
According to him, they also discussed strengthening Ukraine’s defense capabilities with US representatives. Ukraine will receive $322 million as part of another aid package from the United States.
"Security guarantees have been the subject of negotiations. The United States may be the leader among the future guarantors of Ukraine's security. The US Embassy will return to Kyiv in the near future, and a new ambassador will be appointed," Yermak added.
On April 24, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin. The American media reported that Austin and Blinken announced new military aid to Ukraine.
