As of the morning of 26 April 2022, the russian enemy continues its offensive in the Eastern Operational Zone to defeat the Allied Forces, establish complete control over Donetsk and Luhansk regions, and secure a ground corridor between these territories and the occupied Crimea. The General Staff reported this.
In the Volyn and Polissia areas, the state, position, and actions of the russian enemy did not change significantly. The russians did not take active steps in these areas. Specific units of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus, on a rotating basis, perform tasks to cover the Ukrainian-Belarusian border in Brest and Homel regions.
In the Siversk area, there were no signs of the russian enemy forming a strike group to resume offensive operations. In the areas of Briansk, Kursk, and Belgorod regions that share borders with Ukraine, the russians conduct the measures to strengthen the protection of the border and checkpoints and provide the engineering support for their positions. Russian occupiers have intensified anti-sabotage efforts within border areas.
In the Slobozhansk area, the russians are strengthening their forces, continuing to blockade the city of Kharkiv partially; they fire for effect at Ukrainian military units and critical infrastructure. In addition, the invaders are trying to initiate an offensive in the direction of the municipality of Zavody. The combats continue.
"In the Donetsk and Tavriya directions, the russian enemy is relocating command posts closer to the battle line,"- the General Staff said.
The enemy fires on the positions of Ukrainian troops using mortars, artillery, multiple launch rocket systems along the entire line of contact; the details are the following:
in the Sievierodonetsk direction, the russians are conducting war actions in the municipality of Rubizhne;
in the Popasna direction, the russians are trying to take over Popasna; the combats continue;
in the Avdiivka direction, the enemy attempts to conduct offensive actions but fails;
in the Kurakhiv direction, the russians attempted to conduct offensive operations in the municipalities of Novomykhailivka and Mar'inka but failed;
In the Zaporizhzhia direction, the enemy is performing offensive operations in the municipality of Trudoliubivka; the combats continue.
The enemy is carrying out a massive fire and blocking our units in the area of the Azovstal plant in Mariupol.
In the South Bug direction, the enemy, along the entire line of contact, carried out single shootings of our units. Reconnaissance activity around the administrative border of the Mykolaiv region is fixed.
In the area of the settlement of Velyka Oleksandrivka, Kherson region, the defenders of Ukraine destroyed an ammunition depot and a large number of enemy personnel (more than 70 people were killed). The exact number of dead is being clarified.
Units of the occupiers also suffered casualties in the area of Novodmytrivka and Bilousove. The russian occupiers continue to plunder the local population in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine. Units of the armed forces of the russian federation are trying to conduct air reconnaissance over the territory of the Odessa region. They suffer losses.
The Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine hit ten air targets the day before: three planes, four operational-tactical UAVs, and three cruise missiles.
In the past 24 hours, Ukrainian defenders have repulsed six enemy attacks in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions and destroyed four tanks, five artillery systems, thirteen units of armored vehicles, and fifteen units of motor vehicles, two tankers, and one anti-aircraft gun.
