As of 25 April 2022, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have liberated 931 municipalities.
The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, stated this information in his address.
"There still are many cities and communities under the temporary control of the russian army. But I do not doubt that it is only a matter of time before we make our land free from them,” he said.
The President added that 9,781 defenders of Ukraine were awarded state awards during the two months of war actions. In addition, the title of Hero of Ukraine was awarded to 142 of our defenders.
"This war has become truly national for Ukraine. And it showed that throughout the whole territory - from east to west, from north to south - the idea of Ukraine is equally strong, equally national,” said the Head of the State. “Russia can spend colossal resources to wage war to stand against even the whole free world. It can take away from its own people everything that could develop Russia itself and use this potential to destroy the lives of its neighbours.
But the lessons of history are well known. If you are going to build a millennial Reich, you will lose. If you are going to destroy your neighbours, you will lose. If you want to restore the old empire, you will lose. And if you go against the Ukrainians - you will lose."
The russian occupiers have already lost almost 22,000 personnel, 884 tanks, 181 aircraft, and 154 helicopters in the war against Ukraine.
