Today in Ukraine the fate of the whole of Europe, global security, democratic system is being decided, and most importantly – it's being decided whether there will be any life in the central and eastern parts of our continent. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated this in his traditional address to the people at the beginning of the third month of the war against Russia.
"Bucha, Borodyanka, Hostomel, Okhtyrka, Chernihiv and Sumy, Izium, Kharkiv, Volnovakha, Zolote, Sievierodonetsk, Rubizhne, Popasna, and Mariupol…Rockets fired at Odesa and Kramatorsk, Zhytomyr, Lviv, Kremenchuk, and Kryvyi Rih…In all the cities and communities of Ukraine, russia showed what it wants and can bring to Europe, in fact. What it can bring to Chisinau, Tbilisi, Helsinki, Vilnius, Warsaw, Prague, to all the cities and countries which russian state propagandists have been marking as so-called enemies of Mowcos for a long while," – Zelenskyy stated.
He noted that in two months of war russia had fired at Ukraine more than 1100 rockets, an uncountable number of air bombs, and artillery projectiles.
"They tortured, looted, executed. They mined our land. Turned peaceful cities and villages into hell. Some Ukrainian cities and settlements are just reduced to rubble. But they never achieved anything. And they will not.
Kherson, Kakhovka, Melitopol, Dniprorudne, Enerhodar, and others of our cities that russian occupiers temporarily invaded have never obeyed them. The people showed through their protest, their attitude toward the occupiers that Ukraine will definitely win," – the head of state mentioned.
He recalled that in the Kharkiv, Donetsk, Luhansk regions russian forces had seen no sign of support that they had counted on so much.
"They saw that this is an entirely different state. They saw that there are entirely different people here. People who are confident in themselves. Who believe in their state. Those who can respect others because they respect themselves. Those who don't want to capture what is not theirs but will not give up anything that belongs to them. Those who will defend every city, every street, every field," – President noted.
Almost 22 thousand of russian army's personnel have been destroyed in Ukraine already.
