At the beginning of the negotiations, Zelenskyy pointed out that this visit of high-ranking American officials to Kyiv was very important at this difficult time for Ukraine.
The President discussed with the American delegation the defense assistance, strengthening sanctions against Russia, financial support for our country and security guarantees.
He noted that the $ 3.4 billion in defense support provided by the United States was the largest contribution to strengthening Ukraine's defense capabilities. Particular attention was paid to the sanctions policy, which should continue to strengthen and become an important element of influence on the aggressor.
The members of the meeting also discussed the peace process and prospects for strengthening the anti-war coalition. Zelenskyy pointed out that Ukraine regards the United States as a leader among future countries - guarantors of the security of our state.
To remind, Austin and Blinken announced new military aid to Ukraine and the return of American diplomats to the country. Blinken also said that US President Joe Biden will appoint Bridget Brink as US Ambassador to Ukraine. Ms. Brink is currently the US Ambassador to Slovakia.
