Zelenskyy: "Ukraine regards the United States as a leader among the guarantors of our country's security"

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting with Anthony Blinken, US Secretary, and Lloyd Austin, US Secretary of Defense.The press service of the Office of the President informed about this.

At the beginning of the negotiations, Zelenskyy pointed out that this visit of high-ranking American officials to Kyiv was very important at this difficult time for Ukraine.

"We appreciate the United States' unprecedented assistance to Ukraine. I would like to express my personal gratitude to President Biden and in the name of all the Ukrainian people for his leadership in supporting Ukraine, for his personal definite position. Thank you to all the American people and to Congress for its bicameral and bipartisan support. We can see it. We can feel it, "Zelenskyy said.

The President discussed with the American delegation the defense assistance, strengthening sanctions against Russia, financial support for our country and security guarantees.

He noted that the $ 3.4 billion in defense support provided by the United States was the largest contribution to strengthening Ukraine's defense capabilities. Particular attention was paid to the sanctions policy, which should continue to strengthen and become an important element of influence on the aggressor.

When discussing ways to intensify financial support for Ukraine both to support the economy and to rebuild our country, the President pointed out the importance of expanding the opportunities for Ukrainian goods to enter the American market.

The members of the meeting also discussed the peace process and prospects for strengthening the anti-war coalition. Zelenskyy pointed out that Ukraine regards the United States as a leader among future countries - guarantors of the security of our state.

To remind, Austin and Blinken announced new military aid to Ukraine and the return of American diplomats to the country. Blinken also said that US President Joe Biden will appoint Bridget Brink as US Ambassador to Ukraine. Ms. Brink is currently the US Ambassador to Slovakia.
