Lloyd Austin, US Secretary of Defense, and Anthony Blinken, US Secretary, have announced new military aid to Ukraine and the return of American diplomats to the country.

"Interfax-Ukraine" informed about this with reference to the American media.

Blinken and Austin held a meeting with Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of Ukraine, Dmytro Kuleba, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Oleksiy Reznikov, Minister of Defense, and Denys Monastyrsky, Minister of Internal Affairs. The meeting lasted about 90 minutes.

During the meeting, Blinken said that US diplomats will return to Ukraine this week.

In addition, according to him, Joe Biden, US President, will appoint Bridget Brink as US Ambassador to Ukraine. Ms. Brink is currently the US Ambassador to Slovakia.

According to CNN, Blinken and Austin also discussed the recent supply of US military aid to Ukraine, the training of Ukrainian soldiers and the Biden administration's intention to provide $ 713 million of additional military financing.

The Associated Press informed that the United States will provide more than $ 300 million of military financing and approved the sale of weapons for $ 165 million.
