The russian army has killed twice as many people in Mariupol in two months than [German – tr.] fascists during the two-year occupation of the city during World War 2.
The Mariupol city council press service reports that.
Moreover, the occupiers have illegally taken out of the city as many Mariupol citizens as Hitler's army did during the occupation.
"During the two years, the fascists killed 10 thousand civilians in Mariupol. And russian occupiers during the two months [have killed – tr.] more than 020 thousand of Mariupol citizens. More than 40 thousand people were forcibly taken away. It's one of the most horrific genocides of civilians in modern history. The russia's army is purposefully and ruthlessly destroying our city and its inhabitants," – the mayor of Mariupol Vadym Boychenko mentioned.
Russians want to bring some of the deported Mariupol citizens back for construction work in the city, possibly to create a military base in the seaport area.
As the Deputy Head of the Office of the president of Ukraine Mykhailo Podolyak stated, the world is ready to help rescue people in Mariupol, but russia rejects all the offers.
