According to the village council, fraudsters may stand behind the proposals to evacuate residents of the temporarily occupied Borova community (Kharkiv region).
The Borova village council reports about it on Facebook.
Recently, there have been reports from “carriers” offering to evacuate the population from the occupied territories. They are asking for payment in advance by bank card transfer. Such offers have all the signs of fraud. The confirmed carriers from Kupyansk consider evacuation from the occupied Borivska community to the territory controlled by the Ukrainian authorities impossible,” the statement reads.
The village council asks the community residents to be careful, critically assess the situation, and not transfer money to strangers to avoid becoming fraud victims.
Borova is an urban-type settlement in the Izium district of the Kharkiv region, located near the Oskil River.
The Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights Lyudmyla Denisova reported possible fraudulent actions in fake texts sent allegedly from PrivatBank and Oschadbank.
The government also notes that fraudsters are extorting money from Ukrainians, referring to fake payments from the UN. They offer to pay state duty on a fake site to receive “payments.”
