Fighters of the Azov Regiment released a video of the destruction of a multi-story residential building in Mariupol by the russian occupiers. The shelling of the house was conducted at close range, despite no signs of resistance.
The Azov Regiment posted this news on its telegram channel.
"This video is a clear demonstration of why civilians in Mariupol, including those hiding in the Azovstal plant, are afraid to come out of basements and do not believe the occupiers about the possibility of a safe evacuation from the city," the statement reads.
The video shows a russian tank firing multiple times at a house, which sheltered nearly two dozen civilians hiding in the basement. There were no soldiers in this house. Eventually, the house was completely destroyed. The survivors of the shelling were pushed out into the street by the occupiers. The future of these people is unknown.
In two months, the russian army killed twice as many people in Mariupol as the Nazis in the two years of occupation of the city during World War II.
The russians want to return some of the deported residents of Mariupol for construction works in the city, probably to create a military base near the port.
According to Mykhailo Podoliak, an adviser to the head of the President's Office, the world is ready to help save people in Mariupol, but the Russian side rejects all proposals.
