Poland plans to be Ukraine's security guarantor at Kyiv's request along with other countries. At the same time, Warsaw will not support any peace treaty which will mean the loss of Ukraine its territory.

The Bureau of International Policy of the President of Poland's head Jakub Kumoch said that in his interview for Gazeta.pl, as "Ukrinform" cites.

He recalled that Ukraine offered Poland to join the group of countries that will guarantee its safety.

"We are currently discussing the draft of the treaty between Ukraine and the guarantor states," – Kumoch said.

According to him, if any peace agreement is reached, Warsaw will be interested in it only if it "guarantees the territorial integrity of Ukraine and its' independence, and if Ukrainians agree to it".

"We will not evade the responsibility and I can assure you: we won't support any peace treaty that hands Ukraine over to russia. There's no place for Chamberlain here [prime minister of Great Britain who conceded to hitler's demands in 1938 – ed.]," – the head of the Bureau of International Policy of the President of Poland highlighted.

Kumoch noted that russia would like the security guarantees for Ukraine to duplicate the Budapest memorandum in 1994, and on top of that for Kyiv to acknowledge the loss of Crimea and Donbas. He called the claims "ridiculous" and "audacious" considering that Moscow had demanded Ukraine's demilitarisation at the beginning of the aggression.

Minister stressed that Poland, as well as the U.S. and Great Britain, wanted Russia to be driven out of the occupied part of Ukraine. He said that Ukraine, as well as Poland and some other countries, didn't want a ceasefire without russian troops' withdrawal as it would mean another war in the long run.

"Just like Germany sobered up after World War 2 and became an important part of European politics, russia, after its defeat in Ukraine, must give up on the prospect of conquest. It must clean itself as Germany did," – Kumoch emphasized.

In the Polish politician's opinion, what Putin is doing in Ukraine would be impossible without support from russian society. Therefore, the whole civilized world demands "something more than to sit quietly" from russians.

Answering the question of whether Putin will ever be convicted Kumoch answered that he had not believed the conviction of the Serbian former president Slobodan Milošević to be possible but it happened.

In March, Ukraine suggested during the talks in Istanbul that the UN Security Council members – Great Britain, China, Russia, the U.S., France, Turkey, Germany, Canada, Italy, Poland, and Israel provided our country with guarantees of security similar to NATO's collective security principle.

The U.S. State Secretary Anthony Blinken confirmed Washington's readiness to take part in implementing security guarantees for Ukraine. At the same time, he stated he didn't see any positive progress in russia's talks with Ukraine but considers Kyiv seeing some to be a good sign.

Great Britain is also ready to be one of the security guarantors for Ukraine if a relevant international treaty is signed. The Permanent Representative of Great Britain to the United Nations Barbara Woodward.

Germany's Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock mentioned that Germany was ready to provide Ukraine with security guarantees but not until the hostilities come to an end.
