The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Valery Zaluzhny, had a telephone conversation with the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Mark Milley.
The conversation gave an occasion to exchange updates on the supply of weapons, ammunition and equipment to Ukraine, wrote Zaluzhny on Facebook.
"We are closely monitoring the list of ongoing needs, logistics system, personnel training, and the use of the provided samples of weapons," he said.
Zaluzhny and Milley also discussed the transition of the Armed Forces of Ukraine from Soviet weapons and equipment to NATO models.
"The sooner we start this process, the sooner we will finish it," the commander-in-chief stressed.
On April 27, a meeting of defense ministers of 40 countries was held at the US Air Base Ramstein in Germany. Oleksiy Reznikov, the head of the Defense Ministry of Ukraine, also participated.
Following the meeting, he said that a strategic decision had been made to switch the Armed Forces of Ukraine to NATO calibers and equipment.
