At the beginning of the war, russia deployed more than 120 battalion tactical groups, accounting for 65% (about two-thirds) of russia's entire ground force.
This is stated on Twitter of the United Kingdom Ministry of Defense, which refers to intelligence data.
It is likely that more than a quarter of these groups turned out to be incompetent.
According to the BBC, citing the British security research center RUSI, most battalion tactical groups number 700-800 personnel.
The British Ministry of Defense also notes that the most affected units of the russian army, such as the Airborne Forces, suffered the most in the war. It may take years for russia to regain its strength
