President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy believes that the risk of russia's use of nuclear weapons cannot be considered 100% guaranteed. At the same time, one cannot be sure that they will not be using nuclear weapons.

The russians have almost caused a nuclear tragedy by shelling Ukrainian nuclear power plants, Zelenskyy said in an interview with the Australian program 60 Minutes.

"They first seized the Chornobyl nuclear power plant. After that, they wanted to knock out all our technicians without any technical conditions, not even knowing what to do with it. After that, they seized the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant. The largest in Europe. And when they captured it, they fired specifically at nuclear reactors from tanks and other armored vehicles. They fired at a nuclear power plant. Yes, it is protected. They fired from tanks - these Chechens and other fighters, the army. Blocked and shot. It is six times bigger than Chornobyl. That is six Chernobyls," - the president said.

He stressed that these data were confirmed by the IAEA - the agency said that the danger was for the whole of Europe.

"This is death. Death could just come to the whole of Europe. Absolutely to the whole. And these people do not care," - the president added.

Zelensky noted that the russian leadership cannot be expected not to use nuclear weapons based on all these facts.

"Or (that - ed.) will be. Maybe it's like we had with atomic generation. And so I can't say 100% that no, they won't use, or will. Sometimes I think they use something, without even understanding the result. Or they understand the result, but they don't care," the president explained.

Earlier in April, the russian federation let out three missiles that could aim at the South Ukrainian NPP nuclear reactor. Rockets flew from Belarus towards Mykolayiv. Two more russian cruise missiles flew over the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant one week after this launch.
