President Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized that a 14-year-old boy was killed and a 17-year-old girl was wounded in a russian missile strike on 2 May 2002, and a missile hit a dormitory.

He stated this in his video message.

"Today, russian troops launched another missile strike on Odesa. They destroyed a dormitory. They killed a 14-year-old boy. They wounded a 17-year-old girl; she had a shrapnel wound. What is it? Why? How did children and dormitories threaten russia? That is the way russia wages war. That's all," - Zelenskyy said.

The President also said that russisn shelling destroyed an over 100 years old gymnasium, in Lysychansk of the Luhansk region. The gymnasium survived two world wars.

"But, as we see, this gymnasium was a terrible threat to modern Russia," - Zelenskyy said.

The President added that since 24 February 2022, 220 Ukrainian children had been killed by the Russian army.

"And we still don't know about everyone because we don't have access to the temporarily occupied territories of our state. One thousand five hundred seventy educational institutions were destroyed or damaged by shellings. It's in a little over two months! That's why the whole free world united so that no one justifies Nazism "So that no one kills children. So that no one destroys peaceful cities, as russia does," - Zelenskyy added.

On 2 May 2022, around 18:35, there were explosions in Odesa. As a result, the teenage boy died, and the girl was hospitalized. The roof of the church of Ukrainian Orthodox Church jurisdiction was also damaged.

Russia also shelled the bridge across the Dniester estuary in the Odesa region.

Earlier it was reported that the State Bureau of Investigation detained 12 saboteurs who were preparing riots in Odesa on the anniversary of the tragedy on May 2. Dozens of criminals and possible collaborators who could destabilize the situation in the region under the leadership of the russian special services were checked.
