Zelenskyy thanked for evacuation of 156 people from Mariupol: "But we need everyone"

"We finally have the first result of our evacuation operation from "Azovstal."

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked all those involved for the opportunity to evacuate people from Mariupol, which remains under siege by the russian army. He stated this in his evening video address.

"We finally have the first result of our evacuation operation from "Azovstal" in Mariupol, which we have been organizing for a long time. It took a lot of effort, long negotiations, and different mediations," said the President.

He said that 156 people arrived in Zaporizhzhia today.

These are women and children. They stayed in shelters for more than two months. Just imagine! For example, a six-month-old child spent two months of his life underground, hiding from bombings and shelling. Finally, these people are completely safe. They will get all assistance they need," - said Zelenskyy.

The President thanked everyone responsible for the rescue of these people. He assured that the authorities would do everything possible to evacuate everyone - both civilians and military.

"Of course, we will do everything to get all our people out of Mariupol and "Azovstal." It's difficult, but we need everyone!" - Zelenskyy added.

Today 156 civilians from Mariupol arrived in Zaporizhzhia.
